Choose a shared game
Make sure everyone has the same app and a compatible version. Decide whether you want to play on one device, on separate devices in a private room or on a physical board. Available options depend on the chosen app.
Find the friend or private-room mode
Look for the mode intended for playing with people you know. Names and controls vary by publisher. The host may receive an invitation, room code or link to share with the other players. Follow the current instructions inside the app.
Keep invitations private
Share a room code only with your group. Check the room settings before beginning and avoid putting private invitations on a public page if you do not want strangers to join.
Check the rules and time
Agree on the mode, approximate session length and whether anyone needs a break. Quick and full games can use different rules. For online play, make sure everyone has a stable connection and understands what happens if a player disconnects.
If someone cannot join
Compare app versions and region or account restrictions shown by the publisher. Confirm that the invitation is still valid and that the host is in the expected mode. Ask the host to create a fresh room if needed.
Keep it friendly
Give new players time to learn. Dice rolls introduce chance, so do not promise that a strategy will always win. Choose a session that works for the group and stop when someone needs to leave.
